If you’ve listened to modern metal in the last two decades, you’ve heard the work of Jens Bogren. His polished, cinematic, and meticulously detailed sound has defined records for iconic bands like Opeth, Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth, and Sepultura among many others. He’s helped shape the sound of entire subgenres, from melodic death to progressive metal, and we’re honored to include him as one of our instructors.

We’ve been fortunate enough to have him on Nail The Mix multiple times, and to create a course with him: “How It’s Done” featuring Ihsahn of Emperor and Leprous (another legend who we’re thrilled to have as part of URM).

Working from his own Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden, Jens continues to evolve even 2+ decades into his career. What sets his mixes apart is their ability to be both crushingly heavy, incredibly clear and very intentional– NOTHING Jens does is an accident.

Jens is also the founder of Bogren Digital, where he’s created a lineup of incredible plugins, IRs, drum samples and other tools for producers.
